Wonderful Sound for All Initiative Now Accepting Donations to Help Children!

About 30 – 40 million Americans with hearing loss are unable to get hearing aids largely due to financial barriers or limited access to hearing care services, including many children who need support early in life. When hearing loss goes untreated, children face higher risks of language delays, academic difficulties, social isolation and long term economic disadvantage.

With our mission to provide wonderful sound for all and change more lives, we proudly launched the Wonderful Sound for All Initiative last year, providing free hearing aids to individuals in need through a referral and application process in partnership with the Hearing Aid Project, a Sertoma International program.

Now, there is a new way to make an impact with a special focus on children! HearUSA is now accepting monetary donations from clients and employees to support Hear 2 Help, a program of Sertoma International dedicated to helping children get hearing aids and assistive technology they need.

“Cognitive and language development for children is critical in early childhood and schooling. For every $600 raised, we are able to provide financial assistance for the costs associated with hearing aids and assistive technology” shares Jason Camis, Executive Director, Sertoma International. “Hear 2 Help gives a child in need the ability to develop the language, social, emotional and listening skills needed to reach their full potential.”

Sharing this opportunity is part of our commitment to access and equity for wonderful sound for all. Donations are optional and appreciated at any level. Below are ways to start the conversation about our mission at HearUSA and how this donation can help.

Tips for Asking Clients for Donations to Hear 2 Help

• Provide context about our mission of providing wonderful sound for all and helping change more lives with better hearing.
• Keep the ask brief and human by focusing on the need of the child.
• Emphasize that participation is optional and that even small donations can make a meaningful difference.

At HearUSA, we are on a mission of expanding access to better hearing. Would you be interested in making a donation today to help change a child’s life through better hearing?
